MIDLAND, Pa. – Five students from the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School placed in an acting competition sponsored by the Beaver County Arts Education Consortium.
The annual Monologue/Scene Festival was held May 6 at Monaca High School under the coordination of Vaughn Hudspath of Riverside High School.
Allyssa Griffie, a junior from Midland, placed first in the serious monologue category. Caitlin Yarosz, a sophomore from Monaca, placed third in the same category.
In the serious scene category for two or three performers, Senna Collings and Corina Dougherty placed second and Amy Haggart and Emily Shope were third. Collings is a freshman from Wexford, Dougherty a freshman from New Castle. Haggart is a senior from New Brighton, Shope a senior from Aliquippa.
Alyssa Abraham and Matt Marucci, both sophomores from Cranberry, took second place performing a humorous duet.
Theater faculty members Gwynneth Welling and Tom Schaller coached the Lincoln Park participants.
