MIDLAND, Pa. (Dec. 21, 2016) – Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School is looking to fill an opening on its board of trustees due to the resignation of one of its members.
Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School is a nationally-ranked school that has earned a bronze medal from the US News and World Report High School Rankings for 2016. Lincoln Park was awarded the Title I Distinguished School for three straight years by the Pennsylvania Department of Education given to schools ranking in the top 5 percent as measured by aggregate student math and reading PSSA test scores. Lincoln Park also has the lowest cost per student education costs in Beaver County.
The opening has arisen due to the resignation of Francis Komara, a long-time resident of the borough of Midland, the town of the Chartering School District for Lincoln Park. Mr. Komara submitted his resignation so that he could spend more time with his family.
Because Lincoln Park is a public school open to the residents of every county in Pennsylvania, candidates need not be residents of Beaver County to be considered for this position.
Candidates can instead reside in any county in the Commonwealth. Candidates should be committed to continuing the academic excellence of the school and to the kind of forward thinking that strives to keep this school in the forefront of advances in creative education and educational opportunities, all in a fiscally responsible manner.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of inquiry and a resume to Jean Grafton, Board Secretary, in care of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, 1 Lincoln Park, Midland, PA 15059 by Jan. 30, 2017.
