MIDLAND—Four music students from Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School have been selected via auditions to participate in Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, or PMEA, festivals.
Seniors Alan Albrecht, bass, and Jarrod Medved, baritone saxophone, were chosen by blind audition for the 2017 PMEA District 5 Jazz Festival. The festival, comprised of three jazz ensembles with a total of 54 students, took place Feb. 3-4 at Slippery Rock University. A concert was held Feb. 4 in Swope Recital Hall.
Juniors Anissa Clay, soprano 1, and Lillian Roman, alto, were chosen for the PMEA Region I Chorus Festival. The festival takes place Feb. 22-24 at Gateway High School in Monroeville. A concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24.
Alan is the son of Chris and Amy Albrecht of Oakdale.
Jarrod is the son of Thomas and Karen Medved of New Castle.
Anissa is the daughter of Christopher and Joyce Clay of Coraopolis.
Lillian is the daughter of Chris and Nancy Roman of Beaver.
