Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School’s academic program offers a winning combination of traditional learning and innovative technology designed to meet the individual needs of each student. Built on a bedrock of old-fashioned classroom instruction by highly qualified, Pennsylvania-certified teachers, the academic program is supplemented by the incredibly diverse and flexible online curriculum of Lincoln Interactive. This winning combination has helped the school achieve AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) in each year of its operation. The school’s academics are designed not only to allow talented students the maximum amount of arts opportunities, but to insure that every student is prepared for entry into a quality college or a professional post-secondary career.

COURSE OF STUDY

Each student at Lincoln Park receives an Individualized Learning Program, tailored to his or her unique abilities and requirements, and delivered by highly-qualified teachers using accredited curriculum.

Classroom instruction is offered in a variety of courses in the major academic areas: English, mathematics, social studies, science and foreign languages (Spanish). Other courses required for graduation, such as health and physical education, are also offered.

These classes are augmented by a huge number of online courses available through Lincoln Interactive. This curriculum offers students maximum choice and maximum flexibility – since students can work on these courses at any time, and at their own pace. It is ideal for ambitious students who want to maximize arts opportunities, or for students who want to take additional challenging academic courses.

FACULTY

The academic faculty at Lincoln Park is a group of young, dynamic and innovative teachers who are dedicated to exploring new educational opportunities for their students. They offer a hands-on learning environment that is both challenging and fun, one that is responsive to new technological advances but allows for plenty of one-on-one assistance. In particular, they realize that what has worked in the past doesn’t always work today – and they are always looking for better, more effective ways to help their students learn.

COLLEGE CREDIT PROGRAM

Upperclassmen who want to get a jumpstart on their college careers – and parents who want to save money! – can take advantage of Lincoln Park’s college credit program. Through a partnership with the Community College of Beaver County, Lincoln Park offers college credit courses in Advanced Biology, College Algebra, Calculus, Spanish III and IV, Advanced Chemistry, Advanced Physics, Concepts of Literature and English Composition. These classes are taught at Lincoln Park during the school day, so students can get college credit while pursuing their regular schedules.
