Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School has one of the most successful high school basketball programs in Western Pennsylvania. Basketball has quite a strong history in Midland, and in 2008, that tradition was restored at Lincoln Park. In the program’s first year, the team’s hard work resulted in a sectional championship. Since then, Lincoln Park has captured championships in its section and in the WPIAL tournament, and in 2014, the Leopards brought a state championship back to Midland, winning the PIAA Single A tournament.
In 2015, Lincoln Park expanded its basketball program by introducing a girls team, and the Lady Leopards are determined to bring more roundball excellence to Midland.
The Lincoln Park boys basketball program has enjoyed nearly a decade of success, at both the team and individual levels. These talented student-athletes helped Lincoln Park capture section championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, and WPIAL Class A Championships in 2012 and 2014. At the next level, the boys were able to battle their way to a PIAA State Championship in 2014, achieving runner-up status in 2010, 2011, and 2016.
