MISSION STATEMENT
The Dance Department at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School provides a comprehensive education that recognizes the need for specialized training in the various genres of dance, while offering the training, skills and conditioning that form a strong foundation needed to pursue any dance form.
COURSE OF STUDY
The dance curriculum is designed for the student interested in pursuing a career in dance, as well as the prospective college student. The courses, ranging from beginner to advanced levels of study, provide students with a well-rounded and challenging education. With numerous opportunities to work in professional quality performances, students are able to obtain hands-on experience in all aspects of a production.
Lincoln Park dance students will be given the opportunity to work with college professors and professional artists through master classes and workshops.
FACULTY
Lincoln Park’s Dance Department faculty consists of professional performers and educators from various backgrounds. They serve not only as instructors of their art, but also as mentors to the aspiring young dancer.
Faculty members have danced and choreographed professionally with Dance Alloy, Sesame Street Live, Shelley Oliver Tap Dancers, Attack Theatre, Pennsylvania Dance Theatre, Continuum Dance Theatre, Broadway Dance Center, Commonwealth of PA, the American College Dance Festival and New Castle Regional Ballet Company. Faculty members have taught master classes at various studios, workshops and colleges, including Youngstown State University, Smith College, and Slippery Rock University.
