Department of Media Arts
The LPPACS Media Arts Department creates a learning environment through instruction and real-world hands-on application that will educate and challenge students to develop their talents beyond the traditional classroom in the design, production and finishing of media arts projects
Course of Study
Media Arts students are required to participate in a well-rounded representation of traditional visual arts, design, photography and technical media classes.
After being introduced to all aspects of Media Arts during the first years of study, students can select areas of the program in which to immerse themselves. They can also choose to blend their media arts studies with available courses in other departments. Staff meets regularly with students during the year to guide course selection.
Students are expected to participate in extra-curricular events and projects for the department, including art shows, video and audio recording, yearbook, school newspaper, and literary journal.
The media arts faculty is comprised of industry professionals with decades of experience; Pennsylvania-certified teachers; and a highly-skilled technical staff. Media instructors have exhibited at galleries throughout the tri-state area; worked with broadcast and local media; and designed for print and web clients. Lincoln Park's media suite is named in honor of Joe Letteri, the four-time Oscar-winning visual effects artist and Beaver County native.
