As we are all aware, Hurricane Harvey has had detrimental effects on many parts of Texas impacting the lives of thousands. To date, over 30,000 have sought emergency shelter from across more than 50 counties in the state. FEMA has projected the severe flooding to be the worst devastation that the state of Texas has had to endure and noted that the recovery will last many years. Across the nation, people are doing all that they can to help and as a part of these efforts Lincoln Park will be conducting a fundraiser over the next few weeks to support the Red Cross in assisting our friends in Texas.
Both in the main office and at lunch you will have the chance to donate to the cause. Starting Friday September 1st we will be selling cutouts of the state of Texas that you will be able to purchase and display your name on. These will then be displayed in the dining hall. States are available for donations in the amount of $1, $5, and $20. We ask that you be as generous as possible.
Please consider being a part of this effort. As a nation, we must come together in times of devastation and this is a small but notable way that we can help those affected by the flooding in Texas as a school. Please feel free to pass this information on to friends and family. Thank you for coming together as the Lincoln Park family to help those in need!
