Midland, PA – Liberty Theatre, a new professional theater organization in residence at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, is to present “Side by Side by Sondheim, A Musical Entertainment” a tribute to one of the great Broadway composers, on June 18, 19 and 20 in Lincoln Park’s studio theater as its first-ever production.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will be in the mainstage theater July 16, 17, 18, and 23, 24, 25. In December, Liberty Theatre will bring back “A Christmas Story,” the nostalgic comic masterpiece which Lincoln Park patrons fell in love with in holiday student productions in 2007 and 2008.
Formed with a mission to present “quality, affordable entertainment to enrich and enhance the cultural experiences of the region and provide ongoing opportunities for aspiring and professional artists,” Liberty Theatre will employ on a paid basis both adults and college and high school student performers.
Tickets will be sold through the Lincoln Park box office. Tickets for “Side by Side by Sondheim” go on sale May 3 and prices are $25 and $20. “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” tickets go on sale June 1 and ticket prices are prices are $25, $20 and $15.
The organization is led by veteran actor, dancer, singer and theater teacher Gavan Pamer as its artistic director. Shows are presented at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Midland, PA, in the studio or mainstage theaters. Advisory committee members are Mary Ellen Bellay, Leanne Bloor, Theresa Ferris-Dukovich, Laura Humbert, Rebecca Manning, Caroline Mills, Dr. Ken Powell, Sandy Reigel, Odette Shovlin, Charles Sylak and Sean Tanner.
