MISSION STATEMENT

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School’s Music Department provides a comprehensive education to the aspiring young musician by setting high artistic standards while broadening musical horizons. Students gain the educational, social, and emotional foundation necessary to embark on successful professional careers as musicians.

COURSE OF STUDY

The music curriculum is designed for the prospective college student, as well as the future professional musician, by providing a solid foundation in performance skills, ensemble experience and music theory. Required courses include music theory, piano classes, private lessons, and performing ensembles. Through required participation in performing ensembles, students are able to apply concepts they have learned from their class instruction in a practical setting. Lincoln Park music students will be given the opportunity to work with college professors and professional artists through masterclasses and workshops.
