 Scholarship Opportunities

| Guidance

 Applications for the Greater Midland Scholarship are available in the guidance office. Applicants for this award must be current seniors who have attended LPPACS for more than one school year and are attending college in the fall. Deadline for submission is May 23rd.

Applications for the Dr. Nick Trombetta Scholarship are available in the guidance office. Applicants for this $2,500.00 award must be current seniors. Awards are merit and need based. Applications must be submitted to the guidance office by 3:16 on Wednesday May 9th.

 

Applications for the Richard D. Zana Memorial Fund Scholarship are available in the Guidance Office. Applicants must have a 3.0, be accepted to a college or university and majoring in performance, music education, theory or composition. Applications are to be mailed directly to the

 Applications for the PUSH (People United in Shaping and Helping Beaver County) Scholarship are available in the guidance office. Requirements for this $500 educational scholarship include senior class standing, a resident of Beaver County for 4 or more years, 3.0 GPA, and a commitment to attend a college in Beaver County. Deadline for submission is June 1st. Applications are available in the guidance office.

 

The Women's Achievement Club is awarding scholarships to African American college bound seniors who have been accepted to a two or four year post-secondary school. Minimum GPA is 2.5 and awards are based on academic merit, leadership and involvement in school and community activities. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be post-marked by May 11th. Late entries will not be considered.

Applications for the Rachel A. Mogielski Scholarship are now available in the guidance office (or you may access via the link at the bottom of this announcement page). This scholarship honors Rachel Mogielski's memory who, at the age of 12, died from juvenile diabetes. This scholarship is not only a way of keeping her memory alive, but also helping local area high school seniors continue their education and is available to all high school seniors graduating in 2012. 

 

American Association of Drilling Engineers is offering 20 $1000 scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year.  The Appalachian Chapter of the AADE is utilizing these scholarships to encourage college bound high school seniors to consider a career in the oil and gas industry.  This scholarship is not being limited to Petroleum Engineering majors; or for that matter, engineering majors. These scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, financial need, extenuating circumstances. Applications for the Jamie Ellenberger Scholarship Program are now available in the guidance office. Any senior planning to attend an accredited two or four year post-secondary education program is eligible to apply. Awards are based academic honors, school and community involvement, essay and references. Applications are due April 6th.

 

Applications for the Constance T. Rockwell Theater Arts Scholarship are now available in the guidance office. Awards are based on talent, financial need, scholastic merit and school/community involvement. Minimum award is $4,000. Applications are due April 7th.

 

The SAMMY 2012 Award Program recognizes outstanding senior scholar athletes. 25 winners will be selected and each will receive the following:

A $7,500 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education ProgramAn invitation for winners, parents and/or guardians to attend a SAMMY 2012 awards weekend scheduled for June 2012An opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in a June 2012 edition of USA TODAY and other national publications

Judging will be based on five criteria: academic performance (35%), athletic excellence (35%), leadership (15%), community service (10%) and milk experience essay (5%). Preliminary judging will be conducted by a qualified group of educators and coaches who will select 75 finalists. A panel of celebrity athletes from the Milk Mustache campaign will then choose the 25 winners. Attention Seniors:  If you are or have even been a patient of orthodontist Dr. David Spokane you are eligible to apply for the annual Smile Scholarship. Details are available in the guidance office. Deadline is March 1st

 

Attention Seniors from Midland, South Side and Western Beaver:  Applications for the Dollars for Scholars program are now available online. Awards are based solely on financial need.

Attention ALL Students: The Florey Insurance Agency, Inc. is hosting their 2nd annual student creativity contest. Three prizes will be awarded. 1st prize: Apple Macbook or Dell laptop, 2nd prize: Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, 3rd prize: Apple iTouch or Kindle Fire.

Attention Female Seniors: The American Association of University Women is offering three $1000 scholarships to female seniors who plan to attend college and have a 3.75 QPA or above. Focus will be placed on students planning to study a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline. Applications are available in the guidance office or at www.aauwbeavervalley.com. Rachel A. Mogielski Scholarship
