Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School Athletic Department
Lincoln Park may be an arts school, but it’s also the heir to a proud athletic tradition. The old Lincoln High School was a sports powerhouse in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Carrying on that tradition, the LP Leopards boys’ basketball team boasts a pair of state championships, and the school fields competitive squads in a variety of sports.
Many of our student artists are also student-athletes. Athletics at Lincoln Park encompasses a variety of competitive options for both male and female students.
These include boys’ and girls’ basketball and golf, and girls’ volleyball and tennis.
Thanks to a cooperative agreement with Western Beaver High School, LP students also have access to several other sports, including football, track, cross country, and girls’ softball.
By participating in athletics, students gain an understanding of leadership, time management, teamwork and cooperation. Not only do athletes have to show their talents in their sport of choice, but they have to demonstrate their knowledge in the classroom as well. At Lincoln Park, we strive to create well-rounded student-athletes.
