Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School students and staff celebrated Red Ribbon Week with a “Red-Out Day” to encourage students to say no to drugs.
Lincoln Park Student Council supported Red Ribbon Week, an annual, national drug prevention campaign. To reinforce the message, student council members passed out red ribbons to wear and information about the week during lunches on Friday.
“It’s a drug-free initiative to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyles. We’re raising awareness and promoting a positive and drug-free atmosphere,” said Colin Pauchnik, vice president of Student Council.
The student wearing the reddest attire received three free passes to the annual Harvest Festival on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Student Council is hosting the new and improved Harvest Festival during school hours.
For $2, students can gain access to games and activities, including bobbing for apples, the mummy wrap, face painting, palm readings, and a game room. While listening to their favorite tunes, students also can enjoy a candy buffet and a complimentary photo booth. The best costumes will be awarded in the categories of scariest, funniest, most creative, best group, and best couple.
