MISSION STATEMENT
The Lincoln Park Media Arts Department creates its learning environment through instruction and real-world, hands-on application that will educate and challenge students to develop their talents beyond the traditional classroom in the design, production and finishing of media arts projects.
COURSE OF STUDY
Subjects are taught at three levels: intro, advanced and applied. Seniors are also eligible to work independently through practicums and internships.
Media students can focus in one of these four areas:
- Design
- Photography
- Visual Arts
- Technical Media
After being introduced to all aspects of Media Arts during the first years of study, students can select areas of the program in which to immerse themselves. Staff members meet regularly with students during the year to guide course selection.
Students are expected to participate in extracurricular events and projects for the department, including art shows, video and audio recording, yearbook, school newspaper, and the literary journal.
FACULTY
The media arts faculty is comprised of industry professionals with decades of experience; Pennsylvania-certified teachers; and a highly skilled technical staff. Media instructors have exhibited at galleries throughout the tri-state area; worked with broadcast and local media; and designed for print and web clients. Lincoln Park’s media suite is named in honor of Joe Letteri, the four-time Oscar-winning visual effects artist and Beaver County native.
