Want to attend Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School?
Here are the four easy steps
you need to take!
STEP ONE
LEARN ABOUT LP
Lincoln Park has seven arts majors. Five of them have students in grades 7-12:
- Dance
- Media
- Music
- Theatre
- Writing & Publishing
Two of them have students in grades 9-12:
- Health Science
- Pre-Law.
You can find out more about these seven departments on the “Departments” section of this website.
STEP TWO
SIGN UP FOR AN ADMISSIONS SEMINAR
There are several admissions seminars scheduled during the school year for students who want to attend LP during the following year.
The first seminar of this year will be an Early Decision seminar at Lincoln Park. This fall seminar will be for students who want to lock in their spot at LP next school year.
There will normally be two Winter Admissions Seminars in January. At these seminars, LP arts directors and staff will be available to give more information about their programs, and about the school. These seminars will also include tours of our campus.
Additional seminars on- and off-campus, as well as virtual seminars, may be added as needed.
STEP THREE
BE EVALUATED
When you attend an admissions seminar, you’ll have the chance to sign up for an arts evaluation in one department of your choice. Your arts director will email you a link to an online application that you will complete before your evaluation. It will give you instructions about how to prepare, and what to bring for your evaluation.
For a preview of what to bring to an evaluation, and what to expect, we've prepared a handy guide, department by department. You can access it here.
These evaluations will be held at Lincoln Park, where you’ll meet one-on-one with the staff of your arts department. Some evaluations are based on performance, while others are based on portfolios of your best work.
STEP FOUR
GET NOTIFIED
All students who apply to LP will be notified by mail of our decision. Students who attend the Early Decision Seminar and November evaluation date will be notified before the end of the year. Students who attend the January seminars and the spring seminars, and who have been evaluated, will be notified by mid-May. We'll hold a special Newcomers Night in early June to honor our newest students!
If you are accepted to LP, you’ll get information on our new student orientation, which will occur in August.
