Facilities
Lincoln Park offers a college-like, campus setting with four different building where classes are held.
Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is the main building on campus. A working professional performing arts center with two theaters, dance studios, media labs, a photography darkroom, and fully equipped video and audio studios, it also contains multiple classrooms for arts and academic courses, and the school’s main office. The Center is also the home of the annual subscription series organized by our sister organization, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. Roles in subscription series shows are open to all LP students.
Alumni Hall, opened in 2012, is the headquarters of the Music and Writing & Publishing departments. It contains ensemble and percussion studios, a piano lab with 20 new clavinova pianos, and individual practice rooms, and it’s the home of BatCat Press, the nation’s only student-run small press. The first floor of Alumni Hall holds our Dining Hall, where students eat nutritious meals prepared on-site.
The Midland Gym is the last remaining link to the old Lincoln High School, which closed in 1986. The gym was the site of many Midland athletic triumphs, and professional stars like NBA Hall of Famer Norm Van Lier and Simmie Hill got their career starts under its roof. It has been refurbished, and is now home to several LP athletic teams, including the four-time state champion Lincoln Park Leopards basketball team. The gym also holds science classrooms, including our chemistry lab.
The Middle School Building is the newest addition to our campus: it’s so new that it doesn’t yet have an official name! However, it has been completely refurbished, and now houses multiple classrooms where our middle school students take their academic courses. Middle school students are dropped off at the building, which is located a few block from the main campus, each morning. They are then bussed to Lincoln Park’s main campus in the afternoon for lunch and their arts classes. You can read more about this brand-new facility here.
There are more buildings coming soon! Due to our growth, Lincoln Park has planned a major expansion in the next few years, which will include a new events center and a new arts and sciences building. To read more about these expansion plans, click here.
