MIDLAND—Several music students from Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School were selected to participate in Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) festivals.
Choir students, Anissa Clay, Katherine Elan, and Cailyn Kerr, attended the PMEA District 5 Chorus at New Castle High School on Jan. 25 and 26. Anissa is soprano 1 and Katherine and Cailyn are both soprano 2.
Anissa and Katherine have advanced on to PMEA Region 1 Chorus, which will be hosted at Butler High School on Feb. 28, April 1 and April 2.
Several students also participated in the PMEA District 2, 3, 5 Orchestra Festival at Beaver Area High School Feb. 8 and 9. A concert was held on Feb. 10, combining 140 students from 30 school districts.
Lincoln Park students who were selected to perform are Kaylarayne Dlubak, violin; Colby Hill, percussion; Audrey Jobe, violin; Hannah Litz, viola; Stina Shadel, clarinet; Nathanael Turner, violin; Nicole Vebelun, flute; and Jacob Worst, viola.
Colby, Audrey, Hannah, Nathanael, Nicole and Jacob have advanced on to the PMEA Western Region Orchestra Festival, which will be hosted at Sharon High School on March 22, March 23, and March 24, 2018.
