A Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School student has been chosen as a winner of the 2018 Pittsburgh Concert Society’s Young Artist Auditions.
As one of the 2018 PCS Young Artists, Jackson Hunt, piano, is also the recipient of an Anna and Benjamin Perlow Scholarship.
Hunt, 15, an eighth-grade music major, is the son of Brandon and Courtney Hunt of Hopewell Township. He is a piano student of Yeeha Chiu and studies composition with Robert Schultz.
Auditions were held on March 3 and the adjudicator was Dr. Mitchell Arnold, associate professor and director of orchestra activities at West Virginia University.
Hunt, along with other PCS Young Artist winners, will perform in a recital at 2 p.m. March 18 at Kresge Recital Hall at Carnegie Mellon University. A “Meet the Artists” reception will follow.
