It’s #MeetTheTeacherMonday!
Who: Mr. Rosh Raines
What: currently teaches Middle School Theatre Rotation, Middle School Theatre classes, Acting 101, 301, and 401, Audition Techniques, and Forensics for Pre-law Majors. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Performance and Directing from Belhaven University.
When: this is his 8th year at LP!
Where: Arts-Resident Artist in Theater
Why: “I grew up just ‘up the hill’ in Ohioville. I discovered theatre at a very young age at church and then it grew in school. My English teacher introduced me to Shakespeare and that was that. I knew I wanted to do theatre for my livelihood. I ate up everything I could when it came to theatre. After going out and acting and directing for a while the call of family drew me back to the area. How could I possibly have imagined that while I was gone a state of the art performing arts center opened minutes from my front door! I am constantly amazed by the talent that comes through our doors. Our students have a hunger for their art and I love watching that flourish and grow. Not just the students, but my fellow teachers are top notch and they challenge me to be better every day. The students are not the only ones who grow here, I know my art is better because I work here.”
Thanks for helping us grow, Mr. Raines!
