ATLANTA, Ga. – Samantha “Sami” Roth of Butler, Pa., a sophomore at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, Pa., won the public speaking competition and was national runner-up in her age group at the 2015 Miss Reigning America Jr. Miss Scholarship Pageant.
The pageant was held at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta June 24-28.
Competing against young women including some of college age, Sami won the title of Miss Reigning America National Senior Spokesmodel with her speech on “The Importance of Volunteerism.”
Representing Pennsylvania in her age group at the pageant, Sami also was first runner-up in competition with 22 other girls in the Junior Teen Division.
She won an expense-paid trip to see this year’s Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, received a number of gifts including luggage and clothing, and was one of eight winners of the pageant’s major titles to be interviewed for an article in American Model and Pageant Magazine.
Sami will be a sophomore this fall at Lincoln Park, where she majors in musical theatre. A daughter of Arlene and Jeffrey Roth, this will be her second year at Lincoln Park. She has had an interest in musical theatre for several years; she applied for acceptance on the recommendation of friends who are enrolled at Lincoln Park.
Her winning speech about volunteerism was based on personal experience. Sami volunteers for a number of charitable and community organizations, including Ronald McDonald House, the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
