It’s time to highlight our alumni and let you know what they are up to now! We are kicking off our #WhereAreTheyWednesday campaign with 2011 alumnus, Levi Keller, who was recently hired by the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center as a Resident Artist to teach music technology at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School.
As a Lincoln Park student, Keller majored in music concentrating on guitar and composition. He participated in Ensemble Immersion, guitar ensemble, and jazz ensemble, among other activities. His favorite Lincoln Park memory is performing an original composition at an orchestra concert that he wrote for rock band and orchestra.
Keller said Lincoln Park taught him many things that prepared him for college. He was able to test out of many classes and move ahead quickly to study more advanced subjects. He graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in 2014 with a bachelor of music degree in music production and engineering/ electronic production and design.
In addition to teaching at Lincoln Park, Keller currently has his own music production business doing mixing and producing work for many clients, including a Nashville-based recording studio where he worked full-time when he lived there. One of his personal accomplishments is releasing a full-length album. He is also a professional photographer for Hot Metal Studio and their sister company Graceful Fawn Photography.
His advice for Lincoln Park students is not to take the opportunities and facilities that Lincoln Park provides for granted. “It is an extreme privilege to be able to be at Lincoln Park, so use it to your advantage and soak up all of the knowledge and experience that you can,” he said.
A Pittsburgh resident, Keller’s hobbies are high-end coffees, cycling and triathlons, and playing with his polydactyl cat, Ramesses.
He joins two other Lincoln Park alumni on staff: Albert Park (class of 2009), music instructor and Zac Cageao (class of 2007), media instructor.
Alumni, we’d love to hear from you! If you’d like to be featured in an upcoming post please email us at marketing@lppacs.org.
